The Lawyer European Awards: Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații in the Running for Two Honours
Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații has made the shortlist for The Lawyer European Awards. This year’s event sees 88 independent and international law firms competing for 19 trophies.
Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații has picked up two nominations for the “Law Firm of the Year: Romania” and the “European Managing Partner of the Year” awards, the winners of which will be announced at the annual ceremony hosted by The Lawyer magazine, the market-leading media brand for commercial lawyers and in-house counsel.
The shortlist of nominees was drawn up by a judging panel comprising managing partners at private practice firms and in-house counsel at multinational companies such as Caterpillar, Thomas Eggar, CBS Outdoor, Addleshaw Goddard, Travers Smith, Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance, HBO Europe, Unisys, G4S, Rusal, Macfarlanes, Baker Hughes, Clyde & Co, InterContinental Hotels Group and Stephenson Harwood.
The awards ceremony will take place in Monte Carlo on October 25th, 2012.
A Romania national award will be handed out for the first time, after local firms previously competed in the “Law Firm of the Year: Eastern Europe and the Balkans” category. According to The Lawyer, six contenders are competing for the coveted “Law Firm of the Year: Romania” title, namely Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații, Kinstellar, Mușat & Asociații, Nestor Nestor Diculescu Kingston Petersen, Popovici Nițu & Asociații and Salans. The accolade recognises firms that have had an exceptional year, managing the pressures of the economic environment while maintaining high levels of client service.
Florentin Țuca, founder and Managing Partner of Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații has also been singled out for the “European Managing Partner of the Year” award. He faces stiff competition from five other senior partners at law firms from France, Germany, Italy, Finland and Ukraine.

For Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații, the nominations for this year’s The Lawyer European Awards come after it claimed the title of “Law Firm of the Year: Eastern Europe and the Balkans” at the 2010 awards hosted by The Lawyer magazine.
The Lawyer European Awards are a unique gala celebrating excellence in the legal profession across Europe, and attract hundreds of guests. This year, the awards gala will coincide with the first day of The Lawyer European Conference, which will focus on management strategy for independent firms. The summit takes place in Monte Carlo on October 25th-26th, 2012.
