Ciprian Timofte, Managing Associate at Țuca Zbârcea & Asociațiiwon a Rising Star award for Romania during the inaugural Europe Rising Stars Awards ceremony held in London on 7 November. The awards celebrate the achievements from the last 12 months of lawyers under the age of 40 from across Europe. Also, similar distinctions were handed out in 20 practice areas.

Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații advised Global Technical Group on selling a majority interest to Abris Capital Partners

Global Technical Group, the leading end-to-end solution provider for building management in Romania, has agreed to sell its majority stake to Abris Capital Partners. Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații offered legal assistance on corporate and commercial, M&A, competition law, intellectual property and IT, banking law, taxation, labour law, as well as during the negotiation of conditions for the conclusion of this transaction.

Customs seizures of amounts in excess of EUR 10,000, under CJEU scrutiny

A potential CJEU judgment on the non-compliance of national law with EU law, which is in fact predictable taking into account prior CJEU case law, will determine the national courts to declare unenforceable the criticized legislation and to cancel any effects thereof. According to the Romanian legal provisions, cash in excess of EUR 10,000 which is not declared before the customs authorities is seized in full and permanently.

Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații successfully defends Vodafone Romania in a litigation with Romania’s consumer protection authority

Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații acted for Vodafone Romania in an important litigation with the National Authority for Consumer Protection. Basically, thanks to the decision rendered by the Bucharest Court of Appeal on July 5th, 2019, Vodafone Romania obtained the suspension of the Order No. 166/02.05.2019 of the President of the National Authority for Consumer Protection (until a judgement on the merits of the case is rendered) by which Vodafone Romania was sanctioned for increasing the cost of its services/ ongoing subscriptions.
