Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații has won three out of the 13 awards granted during the Lawyers’ Gala event organised by Ziarul Financiar on the 24th of May. The firm received the award for the 2010 top financial performer, along with two other recognitions of the firm’s achievements in completing the largest transactions in the agribusiness and online sectors.

Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații won the largest number of distinctions during the awards ceremony organized by AvocatNet.ro in recognition of team’s collective and individual efforts throughout the past year. A 10-member jury has designated Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații as the winner in the following award categories: “Law Firm of the Year – Finance & Banking” and “Law Firm of the Year – Energy”. Furthermore, Florentin Țuca and Alina Pintică were awarded “Managing Partner of the Year” and respectively “PR Professional of the Year” in the legal market.

Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații posted a slight drop in gross revenues from 22.7 million Euros in 2009 to 22.4 million Euros for 2010. Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații earned most of its revenues last year from energy and natural resources, corporate and M&A, and litigation and arbitration work, each contributing 25%. Throughout 2010, the firm also won various roles on high-profile projects, acting on behalf of a raft of international clients such as Rompetrol Rafinare – a member company of Rompetrol Group (owned by KazMunaiGaz, the leading Kazakh oil producer), Sofiprotéol/Saipol, and Gabriel Resources Ltd. / Roșia Montană Gold Corporation.

Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații has made a high-profile hire for its Bucharest office with the addition of Gabriela Anton, a Partner at Vilău & Mitel for the past 5 years. The move will see local independent Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații further strengthen its capabilities in Banking and Finance, as well as Mergers and Acquisitions.

Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații has promoted 8 lawyers to various roles, as part of the firm’s annual performance review taking place in November. All the appointments are effective from January 1st, 2011. The Romanian independent law firm has appointed six new Partners to strengthen the management team, thus bringing the total number of Partners to 21. It has also promoted five lawyers to Senior Associate. The firm’s six new partners are: Mihai Dudoiu, Ionuț Șerban, Christina Vlădescu, Ioana Gelepu, Silvana Ivan and Irina Moinescu specialising in finance/project finance, litigation and domestic arbitration, capital markets, corporate and commercial law, mergers and acquisitions, as well as energy. The five lawyers promoted to Senior Associate are Andreea Oprișan, Andreea Lisievici, Dan Cristea, Ciprian Timofte and Gabriela Costescu.
