Now in its tenth year of publication, the FT Innovative Lawyers Report is a special anniversary edition, celebrating the most innovative legal work in Europe. The report recognises Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații amongst Europe’s game changing innovators of the past decade. “A ground-breaking Romanian firm that is a perennial feature of the FT reports. It acts as a developed-market firm in the way it puts a multidisciplinary approach at the heart of its client service, to ensure that legal advice is given holistically and in context”, writes the FT Innovative Lawyers 2015 report.

The firm’s prominence in the market and its approach to innovation have made the editors and researchers of the FT report to rank Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații in the top five game changers of the last ten years. The firm came #3 in the “Top Five European Game Changers of the Past 10 Years” ranking which refers to law firms outside the UK, and Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații is the only Romanian player featured within this category. The other game changers are two Portuguese firms, a Finnish firm and a Danish firm.

“We are, indeed, a perennial feature of the FT reports – a robust and complex analysis of the top innovations in the European legal market. To us, the FT Innovative Lawyers report is probably the most difficult and extensive research in the market aiming to assess innovations done by lawyers. A team of editors has to thoroughly weigh, analyse, score and rank hundreds of submissions received from leading law firms across Europe. A happy coincidence, 2015 marks not only a decade of innovation for us, according to the FT Innovative Lawyers report where we came third, but also our tenth year anniversary as a firm”, says Alina Pintică, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, who coordinates the law firm’s entries with the various legal directories and international publications, including the Financial Times.

The firm acknowledges that taking part in a ranking of lawyers on innovation at a European level has become more of a tradition.

“We strive to keep up with fellow Europeans, especially UK law firms, in terms of innovation. I do not know if we have changed the rules of the game in any way during all these years. It is however true that we always passionately search for legal and business solutions suitable for us and our clients”, said Alina Pintică.

“As law firms are facing more and more challenges and threats, both locally and internationally, innovation paves the way for growth, re-invention and readjustment in this industry. We are witnessing a paradigm shift in so many respects, spanning the increasingly sophisticated role of the client to the need to reassess the organisational and management principles of law firms and the proliferation of technology in all its forms. This not only raises significant regulatory issues, but also forces law firms to embrace new techniques and to innovate in this area, in order to boost their efficiency and productivity”, added the Chief Marketing Officer of Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații.

This year, Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații has been shortlisted for an award in the “Game Changing Law Firm in Europe (outside the UK)” category of the Financial Times Innovative Lawyers report.
