Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații wins the “Law Firm of the Year: Eastern Europe & the Balkans” Award
Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații was chosen as the law firm of the year during the ceremony organized by the prestigious British publication: “The Lawyer”. The Romanian firm was shortlisted for two categories at this year’s edition, “Law Firm of the Year: Eastern Europe & the Balkans” and “Managing Partner of the Year”, represented by Florentin Țuca.
“The Lawyer” organized “The Lawyer European Awards 2010” awards ceremony in Berlin, on the 23rd of September, an evening dedicated to the legal elite on the old continent.
In a gala atmosphere, and in the presence of 250 representatives of the European legal environment, 18 trophies were awarded to law firms which have registered remarkable performances during the past year, as well as the leaders which, through strategic decisions and a visionary management, have achieved a significant contribution towards the expansion and overall development of their business, in the previous 12 months.
The results, which were kept secret by the organizers, were announced 6 months after the law firms were asked to submit their candidature.
The “Law Firm of the Year: Eastern Europe & the Balkans” award was presented to Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații, at the end of a competition between 7 European firms, amongst which were: Wolf Theiss, Schoenherr, NNDKP, Kinstellar etc. According to the organizers, the jury panel valued the extraordinary performance, the projects and the strategic growth proved by Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații in 2009. It is for the first time in the history of “The Lawyer” Awards, when this title is given to a Romanian independent law firm.
Florentin Țuca, Managing Partner of Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații, present at the Berlin ceremony, declared: “It is extremely gratifying to receive such an Oscar coming from such a prestigious publication as “The Lawyer”. It is not my award or Gabriel Zbârcea’s. The Award belongs to the astonishing team which stands by our side and whom I thank from the heart. “
The winners were selected by a judging panel, made up of managing partners at private practice firms and in-house counsel at multinational companies. According to The Lawyer representatives, this year’s event saw entries up more than 70% on last year, leading to 100 law firms from Continental Europe to be nominated in various categories.
For Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații, the trophy handed out by “The Lawyer”, comes after receiving a similar award from “Chambers Europe” during the “Chambers Europe Awards for Excellence 2010” gala, for the outstanding performance registered in 2009, a noteworthy management of projects, an impressive strategic growth and an excellence in client relationships.
