Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații scoops the “Law Firm of the Year: Romania” Award at The Lawyer European Awards 2016
Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații was named as the “Law Firm of the Year: Romania” at The Lawyer European Awards last night. This is the fourth prize that the British publication The Lawyer hands out to the Romanian independent law firm.
The Lawyer organised the awards ceremony in London on March 9 to celebrate best practice in the international legal market. The event gathered more than 350 lawyers from across Europe and the Globe.
In a gala atmosphere, 24 trophies were awarded to law firms which have registered remarkable performances during the past year, as well as the leaders who, through strategic decisions and a visionary management, have achieved a significant contribution towards the expansion and overall development of their business, in the previous 12 months. Winning law firms and individuals were selected by a judging panel made up of 25 lawyers and in-house counsels from leading law firms such as: Slaughter and May, Arnold & Porter, Mishcon de Reya, Travers Smith, Shoosmiths, Walker Morris, Winston & Strawn, Paul Hastings, Osborne Clarke International, and corporations such as: HBO, Aviva, Linde, Tsys, Orwell Group, Unisys etc.
The “Law Firm of the Year: Romania” award category attracted nominations from seven leading independent and international outfits, with Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații taking home the coveted prize.
Managing Partner Gabriel Zbârcea said: “This award reconfirms the place of Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații among the elite of European law firms. In particular, it belongs to our lawyers who struggle to provide quality legal services 24/7. It belongs to our clients that believe in us and in the worthiness of this law firm. It is for the first time when a Romanian independent law firm receives four awards from The Lawyer in the course of the past six years. After having been named as “Law Firm of the Year in Eastern Europe & the Balkans” in Berlin (2010), Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații’s Managing Partner, Florentin Țuca became the first Romanian lawyer to win the “European Managing Partner of the Year” award in Monte Carlo (2012). In 2014, a judging panel handed out Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații the “Law Firm of the Year: Romania” award which the firm won for the second time in 2016.
