Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații and Nistorescu, Șomlea & Asociații are organizing the second edition of a series of seminars focused on Competition Law.

"Competition. Rules of the game. Impact on your business" will take place on the 19th of November, in Cluj-Napoca at the Opera Plaza Hotel.

Do the competition norms restrict the companies’ freedom of movement and action? Must they waive certain practices which are specific to their business scope, and implicitly waive their business and profit development under the threat of a sanction up to 10% of their turnover? When all others competitors observe the rules of the game, what are the risks or advantages in being the only one to turn “against the tide”? What are the methods and the price for commencing to abide the law?

Lawyers from Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații and Nistorescu, Șomlea & Asociații will address the hottest topics in Competition Law today and will engage in discussions with representatives of the Romanian Competition Council and judges of Cluj Court of Appeal.

We will approach themes concerning anti-competitive practices in particular, cartels, the abuse of dominant position, but also the private levers for sanctioning such. We want the workshop to have an interactive and dynamic structure, where the theoretical speeches will be relatively limited, in order to allow the participants to debate on the submitted cases. The case studies will cover a wide range of specific industries, starting with various relevant practices from the decision-making practice of the Competition Council and European Commission.
