Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații receives the MR. RON Silver Award
Gabriel Zbârcea, Managing Partner with Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații was handed the MR. RON Silver Award at the gala organized by Săptămâna Financiară on Monday, March 09th.
The ceremony recognized the persons or institutions that have shown remarkable performances during 2008, in various fields of the economic and political life. Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații received the MR. RON Silver Award for “being one of the most innovative law firms in Central and Eastern Europe, according to the Financial Times”.
This year, the winner of the Golden RON, the highest award granted by Săptămâna Financiară, was Bogdan Aurescu, Secretary of State in the Ministry of External Affairs “for having undertook the liability in a historical feat of Romania and for having turned it into a success”. Bogdan Aurescu dedicated the prize to the entire team which represented Romania in the trial with Ukraine on the Maritime Delimitation in the Black Sea.
Raed Arafat, Secretary of State in the Ministry of Health, was awarded the MR. RON Bronze prize for the highly efficient management model implemented in the health sector and the activity of the Medical Emergency Resuscitation and Descarceration Unit.
Seven excellence prizes rewarded special results in various sectors. The Bucharest Mayor, Sorin Oprescu, was rewarded for the projects meant to create and support the Bucharest brand. The prize for excellence in communications was awarded to Adrian Vasilescu, advisor of NBR Governor, for the professional and efficient manner in which the National Bank of Romania informs the public on its activity. Romtelecom, one of the top companies in Romania, received the prize of excellence for its success in penetrating the Internet and digital television markets. Mircea Oancea, President of the Commission for Supervision of the Private Pension System, was awarded a prize for the authority and competence with which he runs one of the youngest markets in Romania. Dinu Pescariu, CEO of Pescariu Sports & Spa, was awarded the prize of excellence for creating a brand in the sports sector, by changing the former Cutezatorii base into a modern leisure center.
Furthermore, Săptămâna Financiară awarded two special prizes of excellence for the initiatives taken this year. The Minister of Health, Ion Bazac, was rewarded for having simplified the establishment of pharmacies in rural areas. The Minister of Education, Ecaterina Andronescu, was awarded the prize of excellence for the project of an after-school program, deemed to be beneficial for both pupils and parents.
The event also celebrated four years since the launch of Săptămâna Financiară business newspaper and gathered many politicians, representatives of the Romanian business and financial-banking environment.
