Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații acts on the first network sharing agreement between two telecom operators in Romania
Telecom operators Vodafone and Orange today reached an agreement for sharing their network infrastructure in Romania, with Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații acting as lead advisor to Vodafone Romania.
The firm advised Vodafone Romania on all aspects of the project, including defining, structuring and implementing the contractual framework necessary for the conclusion of a network sharing agreement with its local competitor – Orange Romania.
The agreement between Vodafone Romania and Orange Romania concerns sharing part of their physical sites infrastructure and will enable the two companies to continue investments in technology updates with national coverage.
From a legal perspective, the matter involved an extensive analysis on the applicable regulations in multiple areas of law such as Corporate/Commercial, Regulatory, Competition/Antitrust, Telecom/Electronic Communications, Real Estate and Finance, so as to determine the optimal mechanisms for the successful implementation of the agreement.
